About This Site

When I first started this blog in 2014, it was out of frustration. Either I had learned things without any guidance from documentation online, or the guidance that existed wasn’t in layman’s terms.

Tired of sifting through all the “dev lingo” while trying to learn, I wanted to spare others that were in the same boat from the frustration. Since then I try to share what I can to hopefully make everyone else’s journey to becoming a “full fledged web developer” (whatever that means) a little less painful.

Professional Experience

I’m a full-stack developer with over a decade of custom CMS and e-commerce integration experience. There’s always more to learn so I use this blog to share my journey.

I’m also a former contributor to WordPress core. I’m no longer active on the support forums or stack exchange these days, but I used to spend a lot of time in the Accessibility Slack room, helping out with handbook documentation.

I occasionally contribute to open source as well on Github.

You can get a full picture of my professional skillset on my LinkedIn profile.

Personal Life

I’m a born and raised New Yorker, now a South Carolinian, who is hard of hearing - hence why writing about accessibility is close to my heart. When I’m not writing code, fiction or poetry, I spend time with my family and our favorite Shiba Inu, her royal majesty, Tali.

Hobbies: crocheting amigurumi, gaming, watching anime, drawing, writing, fiction/poetry, reading novels and comics
